search-in 100

this past weekend, i went back to zobel to be part of a momentous event: search-in circle 100.

primer: search-in is a retreat group in lasallian high schools like zobel, greenhills, and bacolod. it's usually participated in by third-year high school students and it aims to make these guys know their "true self". there are normally five retreats per school year and each retreat is called a "circle". i'm part of circle 70, meaning the 70th retreat held in zobel. like any retreat, it's christ-centered of course and it normally deals with issues people normally face when they're 16 or 17. for other schools, search-in is similar to days with the lord.

i can't explain why. but for some reason, i always find myself visiting search-in retreats at least once a year. whenever i'm there kasi, even if i don't know everyone, parang you just want to stay there and listen to the talks or watch the activities, etc. even if you know that you deal with different issues now and that the students can't relate much with you anymore. (added to the fact na when i was fourth year, the ones behind search-in now were just grade 5! shet!) it's a constant renewal with matching zobel reminiscing siguro. i still don't know.

i can't say that search-in is in my top 10 best-things-that-ever-happened-in-my-life list, but surely, a lot of great things happened in the years after my search-in retreat. whenever i look back actually, my junior year was a pivotal year. an inflection point of sorts. the year when the direction i was headed as a student and as a person changed.

i felt glad going back to search-in again, especially since circle 100 na siya. and the fact that my friends tim and jippo are now heading the retreat group. kataas-taasan! sa sobrang gusto kong mag-visit actually, i visited on all three days of the retreat. haha. it felt nice seeing the retreatants doing the activities you used to and listening to the talks you used to listen to. makes you smile to know that after so many circles, search-in is still able to keep the candle burning.

one of the many activities in search-in. and since makapal ang mukha ko, i was the one who processed this activity afterwards. hehe.
