Currently Absorbing Cambodia

I'm typing this from an internet shop in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It's the nearest town and the gateway to the Angkor Wat temple complex. I arrived here yesterday with Ba-be, my brother, as well my officemate Loi and her brother. We went around town yesterday, had a boat ride in the nearby lake, had good and authentic Khmer food for lunch and dinner, and saw the sunset at one of the ruins near Angkor Wat.

This morning we saw the sunrise at the Angkor Wat itself and toured the other temples and ruins with the stone heads and gigantic trees with roots that crawl around the ancient ruins. We climbed the incredibly steep staircase to reach the top of one of the ruins and made us, for a second, question if we'd ever survive it. We're all taking our break now and will soon head back to the Angkor Wat for one good sunset session.

Sigh. I love traveling. Going to the places you used to just watch in Discovery or NatGeo is absolutely great. Here are some photos of our trip so far.
