some thoughts in my head over the past week. very random and concise.
.) finally, a new pope has been elected. joseph ratzinger = benedict XVI. he seems ok. i kinda prefer him because of his work at the vatican as the head of the doctrinal ek-ek (forgot the exact title). surprisingly, i want the new pope not to be liberal at all. ratzinger seems to be the perfect guy for the job, hardliner kasi. very right wing-ish. we'll see. he's already 78. it'd be interesting if he can be pope longer than john paul II noh?
.) ojt has been great so far. i'm actually halfway done already. bilis. 120 hours lang eh. been working like i'm really employed there and it feels good. refreshing and good change. take note, with matching inside chismis and office pulitika in just a week and a half. haha. exciting 'toh. hatakan ng kakampi! feels funny wearing a barong everyday though.
.) laughed really hard, as in really hard a few weeks ago over something mababaw. i found out that my mom used to have dogs named bantay and... salakay. hahaha. lafftrip. knowing my mom, typical! rough translation: defend and conquer. oh diba. champion.
.) it feels good being able to watch my tv shows again. topping the list are amazing race 7 and CSI new york. CSI:NY is really, really good. i feel guilty nga sometimes when i think na it's better than the las vegas series. galeng. to think i've watched like 10 or so episodes pa lang.
.) "one" seems to be the word of the moment. watched an astig ad on tv advertising www.one.org. daming big names. fantastic how they got those guys together (maybe it's the advocacy: poverty alleviation, AIDS, fair trade, debt relief, etc). check it out. also, adidas is releasing the adidas_one. some new high-tech shoe worth 14K that calculates the recommended amount of pressure on the shoe para ok yung stride mo when walking or running. i don't even understand it still. pero it looks great and it's probably one of the first athletic shoe models i actually want to have.
