pope, 1st anniv!, ojt, summer stuff

haven't posted in a long time, again. but here's an update on what i've been doing and not doing recently and some stuff that i've been thinking of lately.

on the pope...

1.) i wouldn't want to use a word so overused (and misused...) as it is but the pope really is an icon of our times. even if everyone i know have known only one pope and know nobody else to compare him to, i'm sure everyone recognizes this fact. i feel so thankful that even if i never saw him in person, God allowed me to live during the time when he was alive and feel his influence.

2.) we've heard dozens of stories about how he touched so many lives but the one i loved the most happened here in our country. during his visit for the world youth day celebration in 1995, his mere presence brought people to tears. i heard and read this from a couple of people including my sister. sabi niya, she just saw the pope pass by some meters away and so she waved her hands and cheered. when she looked at my mom, she realized she was already crying. astig. i mean, how often does that happen to you, right? truly an icon.

3.) what is kind of surprising though is how (at least for me ha..) i feel that filipinos are relatively indifferent to his death. parang wala masyadong impact sa atin as a nation. yeah, flags are at half staff and it's all over the local papers and tv but in general, i feel as if wala tayong pake. for a country that is heavily catholic, it's interesting how people have not been reacting like other countries.

4.) on the lighter side of it all, sobrang cool siguro maging swiss guard noh? hehe. isipin niyo ha, they're the "secret service" of the vatican and they have centuries of history and tradition behind them and their objective has never changed: secure the vatican, protect the pope. oh diba, san ka pa?

on my previous post...

it was this blog's first year anniversary! my last entry (see below), was posted exactly one year since my first post... and i didn't even know until a couple of days after! haha! galeng! never thought i would be maintaining a blog for this long. di kasi ako yung tipong taong may blog actually kaya pati ako surprised! hehe. oh well, thanks to all those who continue to read on my seemingly uneventful life!

so you must've been wondering what i've been doing recently...

1.) i've been ojt/practicum hunting for a couple of weeks now and it's been eating up a lot of my time 'coz i've been going around makati. pero this afternoon lang, i got accepted in a company in fort bonifacio and i agreed naman to work there for my ojt. good vibes. i'm starting this monday and i'm definitely looking forward to this radical change in my schedule and daily activities since fixed ako from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm for mga three to four weeks.

2.) driving! i've been driving a lot lately... as in a lot! i practically drive every chance i get. to makati, alabang, kahit dyan lang sa tabi-tabi... hehe. pero may kasama pa rin ako syempre. the one-year probationary driving period of my parents hasn't ended yet but it's all good. so far (and i expect this view to change eventually when i clock in more years in driving), i feel that driving is a totally pleasurable experience. relaxing in a way but mostly nakaka-aliw. haha. virgin-driver alert!

3.) badminton. oo badminton! oo may sport ako! haha! every other night, me and my siblings have been playing badminton. di naman kami pumapayat! hehe.

some of things i wanna do over the summer...

1.) visit the village stores and establishments. ang dami na bigla eh. and i've realized i haven't really gone around the village recently so it must be interesting what i would find out meron na pala village ko. go southern sub-urban living!

2.) ice-skate! have done this only once and it must've been a decade ago! i'm overdue for another session of embarrassment!

3.) makilaro sa mga bingo areas dun sa mga malls. haha! jologs meter going up.

4.) join in some summer workshop. i really want photography and painting pero feeling ko talaga sobrang labo na nito kasi walang time 'coz of the ojt. even if sandali lang ojt ko (120 hours), i doubt naman if may workshop that'll start ng end of may. hassle-ness!

5.) of course, travel and go to the beach (but not boracay!). hehehehe!

some of the things i HAVEN'T been doing...

1.) extra-curriculars. i realized just recently that this is the very first time i haven't had any major extra-curricular involvement since fourth year high school! it feels really weird. during the days when i'm not out fixing my ojt, all i do is wake up, eat breakfast, watch tv, sleep again, wake up after lunch, have lunch (hehe), then i read some stuff or think about what i can do with my free time, then eat dinner, then watch tv again, then use the computer, then sleep. oh diba, sipag! but seriosuly, it feels really different not having the need to think about extra-curricular stuff when you've been doing that for more than half a decade! maybe that's why i'm excited with my ojt... balik busy-ako-mode.

2.) texting and calling. there has been a significant drop in the text messages i send and the calls i receive and make ever since i stopped becoming the president of my org. haha!

para sa mga walang magawa...

take the test! hahahahahahaha! how much are we friendships???
