boxing and other random updates

i blog again! finally!

we didn't have internet access at home for around a month recently that's why i haven't been able to update my blog, surf the net, nor check my e-mail (which normally occupies a good part of my day). so i've basically been shut off from a lot of things lately but i'm glad the access is back.

manny pacquiao rocks! although everyone knows that by now... including mexico! haha! i was glued to the tv set the sunday of the fight together with probably everyone else in the country. whattafayt! i loved it so much that watching the replays on solar and one japanese channel still made me feel the rush.

simply amazing. pacquiao definitely was the better fighter, no doubt about that. and for some reason, before the fight, i honestly had the feeling that he would win. unlike the first bout with morales, i felt unsure if he would. galeng talaga.

speaking of morales, i recently found another use for spanish: reading mexican newspapers and finding out what mexicans have to say about pacquiao. haha! i read a few news articles from mexico over the internet and was glad to find out that they had nothing bad to say about manny. most of the articles were basically factual in the sense that it only explained what happened during the fight and some short bios on both fighters. one article though talked about how pacquiao would be praying for morales while he (morales) stays in the hospital to recover -- not to mention fix his broken friggin' nose. hehe! buti na lang talaga pango si pacquiao at kahit tamaan pa yung ilong niya ng suntok, hindi na pwedeng mabali! haha!

since i'm on the topic of boxing, might as well update everyone that it's one of the things i do nowadays. yes, i have a new sport! i've been taking up boxing lessons at elorde gym las piñas since december. i'm so into it right now that i think i've been averaging four sessions a week. whoa! i even bought myself my own set of gloves already and hand wraps.

boxing is such a great sport. if taken seriously, it really can develop so many things in you like stamina, agility, and body coordination... not to mention weight loss. i've lost a few pounds thanks to boxing (and gym) but i'm still gunning for a few more. finally, nagpapapayat na rin ako! haha! imagine, during my very first session, i was already sweating profusely within the first five minutes! it's really something i recommend everyone to take up. there are boxing gyms in las piñas, alabang, intercon, sucat, salcedo village, pasig, and qc.

it was probably the reason why watching pacquiao's match was extra exciting because i sort of understood how difficult one round can be. there are times nga during training that i just wish the bell would ring para matapos na yung round kasi feeling ko mahuhulog na mga kamay ko! haha!

about work, i posted here before when i began working that i felt good vibes all around. well, rather unfortunately, i think the good vibes are starting to fade away. take note, starting pa lang naman. after almost three months of working, i'm beginning to sense that staying in this job wouldn't really contribute anything to achieving some of my life objectives.

i've begun to start losing interest in my work mostly because i find things relatively repetitive nowadays. although of course it is expected, i work in call center! there's nothing much to do there but take calls. but i guess the thing that made me begin to re-think this job was the fact that i felt like i'm not learning much from it and i feel like most of the people there don't have a sense of achievement in them. based on the people i've talked to, they're all very much satisfied with what they're doing now that they don't even want to get promoted. ang sama ko ba?

even in terms of spanish nga, i don't think i'm learning much about the languange anymore since i usually say the same things anyway. well i never really planned to stay here forever anyway since the industry isn't the one i want to make a career in, but what surprises me about myself is the fact that i'm thinking about leaving so early on. hay. talk about eating my own words.

real life issues na ito!

but don't get me wrong, my thoughts are purely on the basis of career/professional growth. in terms of the work environment and the people, they're the best. there hasn't been a day that i haven't laughed hard during work nor felt so relaxed while working. i feel nga na other companies can learn something from my company in terms of how to handle people, since i feel like my company is pretty good at it.

last na, i was walking around makati cinema square recently (buying some pirated dvds, hehe!) when i stumbled upon this sort of antique store. they sell some really cool stuff there that i wanted to spend half the day just looking at every piece to make sure i've seen everyhing. most of it is furniture but when you look around, there are some stuff there that are pretty useful and astig.
