yes ariel, there is a santa claus

blogger's note: this post is full of photos. it may take a while to download.

i find it very, very interesting that i haven't posted anything here for a month! ack! back in college (as if it was such a long time ago), i always had something to post about. but now, even if it is the busy december/january season, i simply have nothing much to write about. which probably explains why even after a month of blog absence, i'm simply posting some photos... hehe. what's interesting for me is the idea that if someone starts working (like in my case), there would seem to be less and less things to write about here. hmm... foreboding ba ito? malalaman natin.

anyway, on with the photos!

one of the things i like about december, apart from the cooler weather, is that everyone seems to want to have a "get together". it was no exception again this year as december, for me, had a lot of get togethers by different groups of people.

first up was at janice's almost-annual party thing (naka-two years pa lang eh, isa pa tapos pwede na siyang tawaging annual, hehe).

dear janice, nawa'y hindi kami mawala ulit next year!

couldn't stay long though since i had work at midnight that night. after work, which was the morning of the next day, i went to have lunch with my zobel friends at alabang.

after eating at some japanese restaurant that i never knew existed, jippo treated us to some korean ice cream. hehe, kids-at-heart.

a week after, i met up with my friends from my freshmen block days somewhere in pasig.

that's neil, camille, me, and pao.

it was actually only after i saw these photos that i realized i was wearing the same jacket in all three get-togethers! haha!

then came christmas of course and christmas wouldn't be christmas without the food! especially in our home. here's me cooking something in our colorful kitchen just before noche buena.

but of course, december wouldn't be complete without a requisite family reunion...

meet two cabigas families. ours and that of my dad's brother. unfortunately, semi-reunion lang siya kasi two other cabigas families are abroad and one is based in the province. oh well.

here's our family picture, 2005 edition.

now... before you complain about this post being too narcissistic and focused to much on my boring life... let me share with you guys a famous text. some of you might have heard of it before.

it's entitled "is there a santa claus?".

it was a newspaper editorial in the US in the early 1900's and is considered one of the most widely-read and re-printed newspaper editorial ever. ang kwento behind this is that there was this young girl named virginia who asked her father if there really is a santa claus. her father, not wanting to tell her the truth, told her to write the newspaper about it and whatever the newspaper will say, that would be the answer. so little virginia wrote the newspaper and one of the editors replied through this column.

this editorial is more famous for the line "yes virginia, there is a santa claus".

read on and i hope it's able to share some stuff with you guys in the beginning of the year.

happy new year! here's the original copy of the editorial...
