island cove, mall of asia, and other stories

due to the absence of genuine good stories to tell, i shall update this blog with another one of those posts with more pictures than texts in an effort to make it look like that i actually did something these past few weeks rather than showing it to be completely uneventful, which it was.

so here goes.

i went to my first-ever company summer outing at island cove in cavite a few weekends back. since my company operates 24/7, the set-up was that it would be held for two days so you just have to choose which day you'd want to go to. my team decided to go on a sunday and even though i would be coming from work and that i would have to go to work afterwards, i still decided to go with them.

the place was pretty good actually although i think i only had fun because i had already programmed myself to enjoy the day whatever happens. even if the pool looked like one big "human soup". take note, the pool was warm with lots of people and 'other' things floating in it. thankfully, the pool wasn't the only thing to do there as there was also a mini-zoo! YEHEY! *sarcastic*

but seriously, i actually had fun and i now officially have friends at work.

this blog has exposed tidbits about myself that not a lot of people know about. sometimes it even came in chunks. so here's another thing i'd like to share: i can read maps better than books. it's a proven fact and my family can attest to it.

thus, when i heard about google earth a few months back and the sattellite images it provides, i thought it was pretty cool. but its coolness level went a little higher when i used it recently to search for something:

that's a picture of my lovely village in li'l old las piƱas and that house is where i live! haha! i am sooo loving technology right now.

blogger's note: there's something wrong with the picture. i can't seem to resize it properly; it always comes out too small. anyway, 'yan yun!

sm mall of asia is HUMONGOUS (tama ba spelling? parang ang panget, haha). damn. i only realized how big it was when i actually went to the mall. i don't want to sound sentimental, but i'm happy that it opened. i feel like its a testament to the kind of mall culture we have in this country. and it also seems like a mall i'd like to buy stuff in, haha. i can just imagine if it has a grand sm sale. it appeals to me too since we 'discovered' the area at the back of the mall, the boardwalk by the bay, a few years back when no one else knew about it. we used to go that church near the mall and then hang out by the way and kill time. it's nice to know that that little piece of land can now be accessible to more people. oh well. i love malls.

i must be insane but i recently said yes to participate in a boxing match this august. one of those inter-boxing gym exhibition/competition, etc. it won't be a 12-round thing, just two or three rounds. the thing is, i don't know who i'll be fighting with! i'll know na lang daw the day itself... can you imagine? the good thing though is that i have just given myself a reason not to stop boxing and in fact, take things a little further. preparing for a fight with an unknown opponent... haha, bring it on.

i FINALLY have weekends off! yipee! after 7 months straight of having to work saturday and sunday nights, i finally have both days free beginning june 18. my new schedule requires me to work every night (graveyard shift) from monday to friday. i am definitely expecting a healthier social life from now on. no more conversations thru text that go:

FRIEND: "gimik saturday night, pwede ka?"
ME: "sorry, i have work eh"
FRIEND: "baduy!"

hehehehe.
