partially meets?

i recently got my 3-month performance evaluation: "partially meets expectations: demonstrates minor deficiencies (coachable) in the behaviour that is expected in the current role".

partially meets? PARTIALLY BLOODY MEETS? anak ng... i am so not partially meets! ugh. i think i've been focusing too much on absorbing how it is to live and work in a different country that i forgot the reason why i'm here: work! well, well, well. since i am officially confronted with a challenge i intend to win, this means shifting gears. this means leveling up. this means karir! it's on!

some things i've been doing recently:

watch football matches on tv. believe it! thanks to the fact that i sometimes work at night and that we have beautiful plasma screen tvs at work, i've been able to watch some champions league and english league matches live! it helps too that malaysia is football crazy. thus, i have officially started on a journey that'll allow me to understand what half the world seems to be mad about.

no tv, no pc life at home. yes, i've been watching some tv... at the office! but ever since i got here, i haven't had any serious laid back i-will-sit-lazily-on-the-couch-the-whole-afternoon tv session. like the ones we all usually do on sundays. haha. i'm absolutely NOT updated about all things superficial and unimportant -- all the beautiful and marvelous things we watch on tv. the office tv gets me cnn, and the office pc gets me news. but for the programs that really matter (haha!), i've basically been shut out.

thai food. my mouth just watered when i typed in those words. oh man. since thailand and malaysia share borders, it's a bit easy to find some authentic thai stuff here. like over the weekend, there was this thai bazaar and i got myself a bowl of hot, hot, hot tom yum soup. i swear, for a second there i totally forgot i was in malaysia. i suddenly wanted to get a taxi to the airport, buy cheap air asia tickets and get my ass back to bangkok.

my new 'thing'. the one i do whenever i have free time. but i only want to say if i have some photos already. haha. dear santa, i haven't been that nice but i still want a digicam!

some other stuff:

the new james bond. ok yung bagong bond movie no? in fact, ok yung bagong bond no?

people against integration. thanks to inq7.net, i am able to update myself with certain local pinoy news. and i just oh so not like reading those articles about people going against economic integration. dammit, all major government policies will always adversely affect at least one sector in society. deal with it. i think doing a thesis on this topic gets you hooked.

christmas outside of the philippines. it's really not much of a big deal i guess (so far). but it's starting to sink in that this will the my first christmas outside the country. no fully booked schedules consisting mostly of dinners and parties. no christmas decor at every single corner. no rush last minute groceries. no nice little noche buena in metro manila suburbia. oh well. i'll be getting new year anyway.
