watching babel was a surprisingly happy and refereshing experience for me. even if everyone else felt so depressed or heavy after the film, i came out of the cinema daydreaming about some happy-happy-joy-joy things.
i will now officially start saving enough money to go to japan and do some serious clubbing. i won't go into e's though, that's so high school. i've been dreaming of a lost in translation holiday anyway and i think japan would be the perfect place. in fact, i'm loving japan so much now that if ever i believed in re-incarnation, i would prefer to be re-incarnated as a japanese teenager. although hopefully not as a deaf-mute exhibitionist with suicidal mothers.
morocco looks like a really, really nice destination too. add that to the fact that it's so near spain, which will forever be a goal for me. i think everybody got endeared to that shot of those two brothers on a hilltop and going against the wind. alavit. i don't think i want to be a peeping tom goat herder though.
mexico. ah, mexico. i'm not a fan of dust and deserts but who wouldn't want to go to mexico? hmm... maybe people who don't want to see barehand chicken beheadings.
dammit, i hate you alejandro gonzález iñárritu for being so brilliant with imagery. do you know how much my plane fare would cost to go to japan, morocco, and mexico? you make me dream for the unlikely (for now).
seriously though, the imagery in this film is fantastic. better than 21 grams or amores perros i believe. although after reading some comments over the net, babel does seem to lack in comparison to the latter.
i'm babbling now. hayayay, i obviously have had nothing to blog about this past MONTH! how boring is that?
